Armando’s Dakota Bar & Grill - A Mexican Gem in Palm Desert, CA

Went here due to a close friends recommendation, good food, the tamarind margarita was a lot better than the house (and they replaced it for free Thank You ). The chicken strips and fries were delicious and chicken pieces were HUGE. The carnitas plate was large and delicious. The chips didn’t appear to be home made & could be improved. The prices are high but the portions are huge and service is GREAT .

Killer Cadillac Margaritas, chips and salsa! Service is quick and friendly! Food is great, shrimp cocktail is delectable. Conveniently located!

While visiting Palm Desert for a golf tournament, my sister and I searched for an authentic Mexican restaurant. After several failed attempts, we found Armando’s right around the corner from our AirBNB. We were extremely impressed how authentic the food was. The salsa was close to perfection. We highly recommended if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed. The service was amazing as well. 10/10

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a lively, friendly atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcome. The outdoor patio dining option was especially enjoyable, offering great views of the bustling street and the beautiful Palm Springs weather. The service was outstanding—attentive, personable, and genuinely eager to make our experience unforgettable. When it came to the food, everything we tried was packed with flavor. If you visit, don’t miss out on the table-side guacamole, which was freshly prepared to perfection, or the margaritas, which were some of the best we’ve ever had. For entrees, the Carne Asada and Chile Rellenos were exceptional and bursting with authentic Mexican flavors. Beyond the food and service, the restaurant offers a great vibe for both casual meals and celebratory dinners. Whether you’re a local or visiting, Armando’s is the perfect spot for amazing food, lively energy, and warm hospitality. We’re already looking forward to returning on our next trip to Palm Springs! Love stopping in for their Cactus Queso Fundido. Super cheesy and love it with their fresh tortillas. This time I also ordered a single cheese enchilada too. Service was great even though they were busy for lunch.

The vibe was good and the margaritas were solid. Customer service was okay, foods good, acceptable overall.

Great service! Staff was so nice very attentive which is rare lately. Always checking in, refilling water. Never needed to search for someone to bring water, napkins. Aware of guests needs. Super fast loved the food. Very clean! I can not say enough about how well the staff was and friendly. Definitely a team effort there.

Beautiful location with outdoor seating along the street. We got lucky and they had one heater still running on a night that got a little cooler than expected. The food was delicious! I tried their tamarindo margarita and my wife has their classic margarita. Both were excellent and I'd say the tamarindo was my favorite so far...make sure you get the tajin rim vs just salt.
